These aren’t your run-of-the-mill cornhole!
Furniture Maker Builds Cornhole
After years leading a renowned furniture manufacturer, I (Andrew Shotts) found myself in a new town after my wife accepted a killer job. We moved to the DFW area and I set up shop in our garage. A few years prior, I had the idea to make my parents a cornhole for Christmas. Now I didn’t want to make just any cornhole. This set was going to live at the family house on the island of St. Croix.
I used my skills and knowledge as a furniture maker and built a pretty unique cornhole set with turned legs, half lap joinery and a solid Sapele hardwood top. You can ask my friends, I’m not one to cheap out. I enjoy the finer things in life. I believe you get what you pay for and in our consumer culture most goods and furniture are made as cheaply as possible. I’m not about it. So I knew any business that I started, I was going to make as rich and beautiful a product that money would allow.
My hope in starting BYC is that your family might find some of the enjoyment and pride the Shotts family takes in our unique cornhole set.
“These are good cornhole. Not too slick and very quiet. We used to get in trouble for our’s being too loud. You should totally advertise how quiet these boards are.”
